Devines Hill – Meeting at the car park Wisemans Ferry Park

1.30pm start

 

Located within the Dharug National Park, Devines Hill has a lot to look at. Guided by Historian Elizabeth Roberts, our tour will see us walk up a gentle gradient leading to spectacular stone walling, culverts, quarries, buttresses, chiselled and blasted rock faces, hand hewn drains and Hangmans Cave. Hear about the Convicts that worked the Road and how it was built.

Shepherds Gully - Meeting at the car park Wisemans Ferry Park

Located within the Yengo National Park, Shepherds Gully has been the focus of major conservation works completed in 2017. The gully was used by Christian Sternbeck as a short cut to connect his Macdonald River property to the Great North Road. This gully features stone culverts, retaining walls and beautiful scenery.

Roughley House - ‘The Pines’ - Sydney Hills Visitor Interpretation Centre

If you have not been to the Sydney Hills Visitor Interpretation Centre I highly recommend that you take this opportunity to see and learn more about this amazing place and its connection to the Great North Road. Guided by our very own Pam Wilson the group will be taken on a guided tour of Roughley House, built in 1856

Wisemans Colonial Weekend

Take a trip back in time! Wisemans Ferry will come to life with Stalls, Buskers & Entertainers.

The Convict Trail Project will be there to talk to visitor and will have maps and guides available to further promote the Great North Road. Convict Footprints Productions have two new shows, bringing their unique brand of theater in the wild to Cobham Hall “Wisemans Inn” Saturday and Tobruk on Sunday.
